Spiny Leaf Insect hatchling.
Less than 24 hours old.
Daughter of my previous Spiny Leaf Insect, Scorpius.
The eggs took around 14 months to hatch.
I’m really hoping this little girl stays alive. I’ve missed having a bug as a pet, and knowing that she’s an exact replica of her mother is fairly amazing :) <3
For those who don’t know: If a female spiny leaf insect can’t find a mate, she lays a clutch of eggs before she dies. All the hatchlings from these eggs are females, since they have the same DNA exactly as their mother. Amazing creatures :)
